Description
General:
- Seal style: 1/4″ or 3/8″ wide smokeless and odourless seal and trim. A maximum of 1″ of bag may be present above the seal centre-line for induction into the machine.
- Sealing band: 1″ wide Teflon band serves to insulate bag as it passes through the sealing area. As a default, supplied with p/n APM-0052030PI medical grade, low particulate bands with tan and gold colouration. Must be installed with gold side out. To be confirmed during product testing in consultation with customer.
- Materials accepted: Polyethylene, polypropylene, Tyvek®, Poly Mylar, foil/PE, Cryovac®, Co-extrusions, nylon, and polylaminates.
- Frame: Mounted on 4 ft high, welded, tubular carbon steel frame with welded mounting tabs that is finished in an epoxy powder coat. The stand allows for adjustable sealing height. Sealing head is adjusted by means of hand crank and motion is guided with bearing shafting and bushings.
- Sealer: Chrome plated brass seal bar assemblies with a post nickel plated cooling section. Heating section consists of two 5″ long rear bars, each with a 305 W element and two 5″ long front bars, each with a 305 W element. Uses heavy duty 6 mil thickness Teflon bands, left and right to isolate the substrate to be sealed from the sealing bars.
- Pressure wheel: Includes a Teflon coated pressure wheel that compresses the seal following the cooling section. This device aids in the formation of a flat seal.
- Temperature control: Four discrete PID temperature controllers allow for ± 2° F control up to 450° F. Dual element thermocouples are used with one used by the temperature controller and the other used to provide a signal for temperature validation via a port supplied.
- Seal pressure control: Seal pressure is generated from independently front mounted pneumatic SMC guided twin rod cylinders that apply a force to the heating bars. This seal force is controlled with a precision regulator coupled with an analogue pressure transducer that provides a corresponding 4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC signal that is monitored for validation.
- Speed control: A Dart MD20P DC closed loop programmable board controls speed and simultaneously provides output pulses that correspond with drive speed. The customer can detect these pulses and collate them through, for example, a frequency counter. The customer may also consider integrating a direct contact encoder wheel on the outside of the Teflon
- Drive: Ultra quiet AC gear motor.
- Speed: Up to 60 fpm.
- Scrap removal: Not applicable.
- Air supply: Supplied with built in compressor suitable for medical applications.
- Approval(s): USDA. All electrical components are UL Electrical Safety Authority approval (or equivalent) is included.
Structure:
- Welded, tubular carbon stand is carbon steel with epoxy powder coat.
